Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for leading a technical team in developing and applying reliable sales application engineering methods and research techniques to provide an understanding of customer requirements, identify issues and define the best solution. The team member will also be required to maintain detailed documentation and effectively communicate with sales, unit engineering, design, manufacturing and operations. Considerations for excellence platform of safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale are required in all decisions.

  • Shares responsibility for leading the customer experience from project discovery to delivery.

  • Oversee the technical aspects, and software/tools for quote to order processing.

  • Team up with outside sales, engineering and manufacturing to assure a complete understanding of customer expectation and technical requirements are properly documented and communicated throughout the organization.

  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Manager to balance team workloads ensuring quotes and orders are processed in a timely manner.

  • Assure all quotations meet Terex and other industry guidelines and standards, and that any exceptions are reviewed and approved by the proper level of management.

  • Partner with key team members to develop and continuously improve standard documents such as equipment specifications, sales tools, pick lists, standard truck designs, etc.

  • Coach the technical team to assure each team member understands his/her role and is working to improve their skills and to assure open issues and problems are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

  • Develop and maintain a project management mentality for the team and assure the ownership for each customer project is properly transitioned between team members as the order moves through the internal processes.

  • Develop team key performance and behavior indicators to understand current state, show progress as well as identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering

  • 3 years of experience in the application engineering field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of heavy equipment design and manufacturing principles

  • 2D and 3D Knowledge drawing software experience

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including team building and employee development

  • Understanding of business financial concepts and cost analysis

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time

  • Solid understanding of continuous improvement principles.
