The Used Equipment Manager is supporting Asia (except China) for used equipment and to streamline the focus on the Used Equipment business throughout the region. The position reports into a matrix organization with reporting line to the VP of Commercial Operations, Used Equipment and Global Strategic Accounts with dotted line to VP&GM Terex cranes Asia.
The manager will be responsible for all business processes related to used equipment including; evaluation of Terex cranes & non - Terex Crane equipment where applicable, coordination of quote packages with regional sales managers in conjunction with new equipment sales, selection of delivery locations and inventory management. This manager works closely with inside sales related to new equipment in Asia, Sales Managers and coordinates with the used equipment department in Zweibruecken.
Used equipment trade-ins and sales transactions in conjunction with new equipment sales are a significant contributor to our overall value proposition and strategy. In 2018 we expect to conduct $5.4M USD in used equipment business as part of our trade-in strategy.
Responsible for used equipment sales from our global used equipment inventory as well as from used equipment purchased through trade-in agreements.
Assist the sales team with transactional support to efficiently quote and transact trade packages in conjunction with the sale of new equipment.
Establish and maintain an in-depth and up to date market value database for used Terex Cranes and non-Terex Cranes.
Manage inventory and turn equipment preferably per quarter through active sales activities locally but also through x-selling to other regions outside of Asia
Provide detailed evaluation reports with photos for every trade-in machine and coordinate with Zweibruecken.
Utilize dealers service yards for potential storage and support dealers for used equipment sales
Interact with senior leaders to collaborate on used equipment sales strategies.
Develop technology based tools for dealing with used equipment.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Science or equivalent trades/technical degree required.
Minimum of 8 years of experience with used equipment in the cranes (Heavy machinery) industry.
Experience in selling/servicing Demag cranes (preferred).
Able to offer informed perspective on the market and strategies required to achieve goals.
Able to understand and work with the operational side of the used equipment business.
Good people skills required to create, nurture and maintain relationships in the market with our current
sales / dealer network, new legacy customers and global used equipment TM.
Able to penetrate into new markets and navigate the issues, importation and logistic challenges associated with Trade-ins and sale of used equipment.
Able to work in a team when required and independently at other times.
Need to have clear understanding of Business Acumen.
Need to be a pro-active individual
Excellent communication and written skills
Minimum 50% of travelling time required
Can be based in Singapore or Terex facility in KL
