T erex Strategic Sourcing Initiative

As part of the implementation of our ‘Execute to Win‘ business system, Terex has launched several major initiatives to better understand how we operate in certain areas. Two major initiatives are in Strategic Sourcing and Parts, Services and Lifecycle Solutions. The ultimate intention of these initiatives is to develop strategic sourcing excellence and expand our parts and services businesses. Wave Teams have been established using a standard 11 step methodology to source specific categories, phased over the next several years. Advanced capabilities and performance in these areas will improve our margins and underpin our drive to achieve Operational Excellence.

Position Description

Reporting to the Global Parts and Services Senior Category Manager Electrical , this position plays a key role in executing our strategies with responsibility for sourcing direct parts in assigned categories, utilizing the global leverage of Terex ensuring that Terex globally and regionally achieves best value in cost, quality, reliability, service, and support. This role will also co-ordinate cross functional relationships, including product development/ engineering, materials management, local purchasing, operations, finance and aftermarket

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of category strategies for: Spare Parts Electrical, Electronics: Cabling & Harnesses assembly, Batteries, Motors.

  • Utilizes Terex’s eleven step Strategic Sourcing process to reduce total cost of ownership and increase overall value.

  • Leads and participates in cross-functional and cross-segment wave teams.

  • Manages relationships with key suppliers and negotiates company-wide contracts.

  • Interfaces and acts as the liaison between the Terex businesses and the suppliers.

  • Drives continuous improvement and business simplification efforts.

  • Maintains conduct consistent with company policy, operating procedures, accepted practices and applicable laws.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with focus on procurement, supply chain, engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ year’s work experience in Global manufacturing industry while dealing with Global supply base.

  • Strong procurement and strategic sourcing background with focus on direct materials, ideally electrical &/or electronical categories.

  • Experience in Spare Part, Aftermarket Sourcing is a plus.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and able to work with little guidance.

  • Excellent project management skills and used to work in global, cross-functional teams.

  • Proven supplier management and negotiation skills; able to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all involved parties.

  • Technical savvy and able to read technical drawings, specifications and applications.

  • Strong problem solving aptitude and excellent analytical skills plus high proficiency in MS Office products.

  • Strong communication and listening skills.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); in addition German would be ideal.

  • Associate’s Degree may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of experience.

Travel

  • Must be willing and able to travel (travel is estimated at 25% rising to 75% during periods of supplier assessment and selection).
