Ensures a safe workplace for all team members.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, utilizing knowledge of production processes, machine and plant capability, and staffing requirements.
Recommends and implements improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions to assure optimal use of available capacity.
Interprets blueprints, specifications, and job orders such as engineering change notices to team members, makes and participates in assignments, and conducts inspections of work.
Ensures system performance to meet quality and delivery requirements.
Monitor and reduce costs associated with the system.
Lead and implement manufacturing continuous improvement in safety, quality and delivery through the kaizen cycle.
Train and coach new team members. Communicates company philosophies and policies, teaches and demonstrates work routines, and documents performance.
Initiates communications on employee relations matters such as promotions, transfers, attendance, discipline, work conditions, and personal assistance. Resolves team member grievances and problems, facilitating solutions or forwarding situations to higher authority.
Creates and manages area budget
Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, in a production role
2+ years of lead or supervisory experience
High School Diploma/GED
Experience supervising groups ranging in size of 20+ Strong technical ability and understanding of Lean manufacturing Principles(5S, standard work, waste elimination, etc)
Proficiency in the teaching and presentation of standardized training materials
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Flexible, with strong teamwork orientation
Demonstrated ability to effectively implement change
Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form with all levels within the organization
Demonstrated leadership ability, including experience coaching and training others
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Strong math skills.
Proficiency with MS Office, Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent problem solving skills
