Responsibilities:

Overview:

The Production Control Coordinator (PCC) is a highly visible and critical position to the operations of the business. The PCC ensures that material flow within production environment is on time and maintains delivery standards as set-forth in the Terex Production System. Maintains and facilitates timely order and delivery of parts, components, and supplies to support areas such as production and parts service. Provides a communication and logistics link between planning, inventory, engineering and purchasing. Responsible for scheduling production areas and communicating all variances with concerned parties.

  • Schedules and coordinates all activities related to reschedules, ECN changes, conversions and options

  • Enters specific sales orders into the production schedule based on requested customer delivery dates, availability of materials, and equipment

  • Maintains production schedules for the facility, reviewing frequently to adjust for changes in customer requirements, delay in receiving materials, availability of production equipment, etc. Advises appropriate team members in the operating unit and in sales of changes in the schedule

  • Determines daily manufacturing production plan and releases to manufacturing

  • Leads periodic production planning meetings that include representatives from sales, production, shipping, customer service, and materials departments

  • Prepare reports summarizing production and supply related information such as duplicate processes, material overages and shortages, downtime of work and equipment and any other factor affecting linearity or on time delivery

  • Establish and maintain all line side inventory including; set up, set inventory levels, monitor (and correct) integrity of racking, location maintenance

  • Create and maintain all production kanbans. This includes establishing Kanban and SWIP levels, creating/maintaining Kanban cards for the value stream in your assignment

  • Maintains accurate information in the PFEP system for withdrawl kanbans (routes, pack size, container) and responsible for timely disposition of withdrawl kanbans per the daily batch print process

  • Calculate SWIP levels and ensure the number of carts and racks introduced into the system support those levels (not over or under). Create and status project requests as new or replacement carts/racks are needed to support SWIP levels.

  • Identifies and communicates all potential and real schedule variance for on-time delivery to the customer. Works to resolve such issues and develops alternate methods or supplier relationships as needed to ensure continued production and manufacturing flow

  • Acts as primary liaison between departments, facilitating on time delivery of materials, parts and supplies

  • Identifies and resolves daily material issues, facilitating or ordering necessary parts, components, and supplies for production

  • Assists Kanban Coordinators, Buyers/Planners and other Materials support team to develop, interpret, and convert intermediate-term plans into action plans

  • Coordinates daily workflow between manufacturing teams to ensure needed supply to the line and internal customer for continual flow

  • Reviews master production schedules, confers with Materials Team Members, and serves as liaison between all other departments to facilitate material flow

  • Communicates daily priorities to manufacturing teams, coordinating materials from vendors as necessary

  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with all customers

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Needs to have excellent pc skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office programs

  • Needs to have superb communication skills in both oral and written formats

  • Experience in inventory control, material distribution and planning, scheduling or purchasing is helpful

  • Knowledge and skills surrounding material flow within a production system, lean concepts and processes, as well as production planning with on-time delivery of supplies to internal customers

  • Working knowledge of Kanban systems, buyer/planner responsibilities and process as well as overall materials systems knowledge.

  • Depth of knowledge surrounding flow systems, as well as quality products being delivered within a TAKT time

  • The ability to coordinate materials and production schedules with multiple teams; to solve urgent problems associated with the manufacture of products; and to document and communicate production outcomes and trends is preferred

  • The ability to perform math and logic computations requiring sequencing of times, critical incidents, and numeric information

  • The ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams

  • Additional experience in production may substitute for some training in materials

  • This position may also require moving materials weighing up to 40 pounds
