As part of the implementation of our ‘Execute to Win’ business system, Terex has launched several major initiatives to better understand how we operate in certain areas. A major initiative is in Strategic Sourcing. Wave Teams have been established using a standard 11 step methodology to source specific categories, phased over the next several years. The ultimate intention of this initiative is to develop strategic sourcing excellence. Integral to our success is the delivery of best in class supplier quality and the continuous development of our supply base.
This is a key role, working closely with the all business key stakeholders and supplier development and innovation group to achieve performance targets to enhance the overall effectiveness of the organization.
Continuous improvement of supplier quality control and manufacturing capabilities for serial production
Co-ordination and implementation of engineering changes for new product development
Corrective Actions process with suppliers
Manage process audits of existing bought-out parts, where the parts are the subject of a problem solving/action/deviations
Conduct supplier audits and provide support for supplier quality systems improvements
Develop and maintain the supplier first article submission program
Manage supplier change notifications to ensure that they are appropriately assessed,
communicated and all follow-up activities are tracked through timely completion.
Supplier Quality Assessments and formal notification to suppliers of their evaluation status
Manage suppliers’ action and progress plans (serial production)
Initiate and validate corrective and preventive actions with the suppliers for immediate containment actions
Work with suppliers in implementing necessary actions to resolve supplier corrective actions through the SCAR process
Consolidate required supplier quality KPIs for the site and communicate on site and to Supplier Quality director
Accept Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) when serial production starts
Ensure good coordination and communication with engineering, sourcing/purchasing and quality
Engineering Degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment with quality/supplier quality experience.
Skills and Experience:
2 years’ experience in Manufacturing, New Product Development, Engineering Changes Order, Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management, Supplier Quality
Experience in auditing and assuring implementation of corrective action at suppliers
Technical knowledge characteristics of a wide range of component parts, assembly, tooling and manufacturing process
Demonstrated success in problem solving, as well as product and process analysis
Excellent analytical skills and trained to work with relational databases
Results driven, action oriented
Communication and collaboration skills with the ability to develop relationships across levels, geographies and segments
Willingness and ability to travel(travel could be 50% during periods of supplier assessments)
