Oklahoma City is a unique site to Terex Corporation in North America, manufacturing for each of the business segments: Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Terex Cranes, and Terex Materials Processing. Its workforce is anticipated to grow to more than 1,000 over the next few years. The 100+ acre facility has recently completed an extensive remodel to accommodate the business’ growth.
This position will be assigned to the OKC Strategic Sourcing Implementation team. The Quality Engineer will be working in a team environment with other members to establish efficient methods and processes, assist with new or improved components and product designs; review, verify and validate designs/drawings and update work instructions and bills of material associated with implementing new suppliers / parts directly related to the Terex Strategic Sourcing Initiative.
Supplier interface for quality related actions during implementation: Quality Agreements, First Articles, PPAP, DFEMA and other actions as required
Direct interface with QA Techs performing First Article inspections – problem solving activities related to non-conformance
Complete joint activities with Design and Manufacturing Engineers on same team
To resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively, and manage engineering changes.
Follow specific business standards in the areas of QFD, FMEA, etc. for new suppliers and parts
Follow business specific engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure effective global management of released engineering data.
Ensure new parts meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability.
BS in Engineering discipline (ABET accredited institution)
Experience in manufacturing setting (Recent college graduates may qualify will applicable intern/Co-Op experience)
New Supplier setup and development
Experience in heavy machinery manufacturing a plus
Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally SolidWorks and NX.
Technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Creativity and innovative thinking.
Experience with ERP systems a plus.
Effective communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
A "Can Do" attitude and ability to interact with a multi-functional team
Ability to assess and prioritize workload and meet deadlines through effective time management, collaboration and influence
