This position will be responsible for all elements of warehouse operations. This includes shipping, receiving, inventory management, safety, quality, cost and delivery.

Responsibilities:

The position oversees the daily activities of area supervisors and team leaders and ensures area metrics and processes are developed and maintained to meet quality, safety and compliance requirements. The production supervisor manages the area's operating budget plan capital and staffing requirements appropriate for the business levels and would communicates and coordinateswith other departments to facilitate the transition of material into and out of the warehouse. This manager would interact with customers, carriers and other service providers to ensure the highest level of customer responsiveness is achieved. This supervisor is also responsible for creating and implementing improvement ideas following lean manufacturing principles; mentoring, coaching and training team members to ensure the continuing development of area talent.

  • Plan, organize and control the activities of the department to accomplish short and long term goals.

  • Provide leadership for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery

  • Drive operational improvements to align with company goals.

  • Establish and maintain department metrics to ensure results

  • Identify and reduce variation in process to improve customer satisfaction and quality ultimately reducing cost and waste

  • Strategic planning of the operation

  • Direct activities including lean manufacturing, 5S Visual controls, improvement and Terex Business System.

  • Identifies warehouse CAPEX requirements to ensure capability supports organizational strategies

  • Develop department goals, tactics and objectives to ensure alignment with company strategy

  • Evaluate and expeditiously evaluate complaints and act on them in a timely manner

  • Prepare, review and manage operation budgets that ensure all financial objectives are achieved

  • Ensure safety initiatives are followed

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with shipping, receiving and warehouse management, with proven operations leadership experience preferred

  • 3+ years of people leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership skills that create an engaged Team Member environment

  • Good verbal and written communication skills: ability to create partnerships with suppliers and internal resources to support customer requirements.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology (lean manufacturing, JIT, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen techniques, and on escalation and A3 problem solving.)

  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal management, staff as well as outside clients and vendors; high degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion

  • Exceptional communication and people skills

  • Knowledge of budget management

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products

  • Experience with warehouse equipment and operating systems to include WMS

  • Training in hazardous material requirements (DOT certified) a plus

  • Experience with export compliancy a plus

  • Able and willing to change the status quo and effectively champion change; demonstrated ability to lead teams in problem solving activities and creating change.
