Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for developing and applying reliable engineering methods, theories, and research techniques, in the investigation and solution of technical problems. These problems can be mechanical, structural, electrical, and/or hydraulic in nature. You will provide support for the development of production processes, tooling, fixtures, equipment selection, CNC programming and associated production support for welding, machining, bending, cutting and fabrication of components as a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team supporting our Service Parts production.

You will plan technical projects in process development, design, and/or development of Genie production systems. Specific areas of focus include machined parts, laser cut steel parts, part forming, tube bending, welding processes and the associated tools and equipment. You'll be responsible for developing new concepts from initial design through manufacturing startup and continued support for daily production. Designs are documented by creating models, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks. You may be required to analyze designs using traditional methods in conjunction with dynamic and finite element analysis software. The ability to manage large scale projects and multiple projects simultaneously is essential.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering from an accredited school

  • 3+ years related experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCad and MathCAD

  • Skilled with CNC programming, steel component machining and laser cutting processes

  • Experience with steel welding, troubleshooting weld process issues and weld fixture development

  • Knowledge of hydraulic/electrical control systems

  • Experience in tooling design

  • Skilled in general fabrication processes, experience with saws, brake presses, tube bending and metal processing equipment

  • Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of research, development and maintenance of equipment and processes

  • Capability to utilize wide application of standard mechanical and/or industrial engineering principles, theories and concepts

  • Experience with structural analysis (Ansys)

  • Project organizational skills managing moderate to large scale projects with minimal supervision

  • Understanding of and commitment to Lean Manufacturing

  • Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continuous improvement

  • Excellent written and oral interpersonal skills

  • Effectively communicate complex technical issues to others and to work cooperatively with both internal and external customers
