The TBS Shop Floor Training Specialist will assist with the training and development of Shop Floor Team Members. Topics include safety, quality, Terex Operating System principles and concepts, lean manufacturing, and standard assembly tool usage. The role will support AWP Foundations learning outcomes, workplace satisfaction drivers, orient Team Members to the workplace and other Terex Business System initiatives to support Genie as the Best Place to work. This role shall work collaboratively with Human Resources, Operations and TBS to ensure Team Members receive necessary and sufficient on-the-job training information for initiation success in Genie Value Stream. The role will support company initiative for workforce stability, improve retention to positively impact Big 5 metrics (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Morale).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support Plant/ Value Stream Team Member onboarding process. Promote tools for identifying, planning and onboarding Team Members within a value stream
Work with Terex Business System Training Specialists to determine the training needs of shop floor Team Members that operationalize learning
Support On-The-Job training expectations, provide spot training, coaching, and respond to Team Member concerns. Encourage escalation and Problem Solving
Facilitate small group Shop floor training to accelerate Team Member Onboarding and increase productivity
Assist with implementing a systematic capability building plan to efficiently onboard Team Members at the Value Stream. Ensure this plan aligns with the company onboarding strategy.
Support the analysis of Team Member attrition data and make recommendations to improve Team Member work station needs, workplace conditions and increase retention.
Coordinate and/or conduct remedial training for Team Members in Takt Time positions as needed
Support train-the-trainer capability in shop floor to support training time tables and cross training matrix.
Support Shop Floor Supervisors/Team Leads in the coordination and implementation of training. Observe and make recommendations so Team Members are performing job tasks safely, conscientiously and consistently
Monitor Shop floor Team Member training and gather feedback to enhance training methods. Deliver TBS training and laboratory demonstrations as needed
Act as a liaison between Operations and Human Resources, escalating potential Team Member concerns to appropriate leaders for necessary actions.
Advocate for company policy and procedures and Team Member Development.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2+ years of experience in manufacturing
2+ years’ experience in a training environment; coaching, training and/or presenting materials
Associates degree in Human Resources or related field
HR educational experience if no degree
AWP shop floor experience
Familiarity with TWI Job Instruction Methodology
Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite especially Power Point
Experience using video methods for training
Familiarity with Genie manufacturing processes
Teaching and presentation of standardize training materials
Adult Learning Principles
Terex Operating System principles and concepts

Strong written and verbal communication skills
