As part of the implementation of our ‘Execute to Win‘ business system, Terex has launched several major initiatives to better understand how we operate in certain areas. A major initiative is in Strategic Sourcing. Wave Teams have been established using a standard 11 step methodology to source specific categories, phased over the next several years. The ultimate intention of this initiative is to develop strategic sourcing excellence. Advanced capabilities and performance in sourcing will improve our margins and underpin our drive to Operational Excellence.

Responsibilities:

The Segment Sourcing Director is responsible for leading, interfacing and directly supporting (incl. reporting) of sourcing activity for the Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) segment on a global basis. Moreover, the position will help with identifying sourcing opportunities and the mitigation, escalation and resolution of day-to-day supply chain issues. Reporting directly to the Vice President Strategic Sourcing North America, the Segment Sourcing Director acts as a key liaison between Global Strategic Sourcing, the Strategic Sourcing Initiative (SSI) wave teams and the various AWP operating businesses. The Sourcing Director will assist with the roll-out, implementation and execution of sourcing wave initiatives and the identification of AWP specific sourcing opportunities and will oversee other segment team members. The preferred location for this role is Redmond, WA; the successful candidate may be able to work from an alternate location if their current residence is commutable to an AWP site (i.e., Rock Hill, SC, North Bend, WA, Moses Lake, WA or Oklahoma City, OK).

Responsibilities:

  • NPPD support, including interface between segment and Global Sourcing Organization

  • Implementation of effective daily management processes that use key metrics to monitor segment-wide performance including:

  • Reporting(opportunity reports, BI reports, impact reports, etc.)

  • Oversight of segment rollout of p-card, virtual card

  • Segment PO approvals

  • Oversight of past due invoices

  • Support creation of category strategies and ensure segment requirements are identified and incorporated into future strategies and agreements

  • Travel (approximately 25% of the time), primarily to AWP sites but also to suppliers

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Finance related discipline with 5+ years’ progressive experience in support ofstrategic sourcing in a manufacturing organization

  • In lieu of degree, candidates possessing 10+ yearsprogressive strategic sourcing and/or related experience in a manufacturing organization may be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive background in Operational environment, with a solid understanding of the Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering teams;understanding of lean operating techniques

  • Experienced in strategic sourcing, supply chain management and/or procurement in a larger organization;

  • managing direct and indirect spend categories

  • effective leadership in both strategic and operational decision making

  • Strong influencing skills

  • Excellent project management and problem solving skills

  • Analytical skills to analyze purchasing/supply chain data, supplier information and cost data

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of another European language would be advantageous
