The purpose of the role of Sales Director is to oversee Sales and Product Support of the Fuchs material handler product line in North America and Mexico. The person will work to develop marketing strategy to generate sales through a strong dealer network, and deliver significant increases in market share resulting in a market leadership position.
This is a core leadership role which will require vision, clarity of communication, entrepreneurship and resilience to lead and marshal resources within US, focus skills and attention to grow the region and engage leadership to support the needs of the Fuchs business in the US.
Increase Fuchs product line sales across all the regions in the US through successful engagement and leadership of a strong dealer network.
Coach sales team in key skills of dealer management including floor planning and technical training.
Drive excellence in Fuchs product training and technical sales support within the region, ensuring delivery to standards and enabling the growth strategy.
Manage and provide direction of team of 3 - 5, increasing in line with achievement of growth targets
Establish accuracy of sales forecasting, secure sales orders according to targets and ensure business is compliant to all legislative and company requirements.
Control expenses, machine & parts discounts and improve margins as agreed upon budget.
Ensure customers have access to parts personnel, field service and other team members as necessary.
Ensure local sales team can engage customers on value.
Creatively develop brand in region.
Ensure team oversees proper selection, use and application of equipment, developing brand for long term.
Provide general (non-technical) troubleshooting, with recommendations for improvements to process and business strategy with the material handling industry.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 7 years of leadership experience
Minimum 5 years of experience with dealer management relative to capital equipment
A bachelor degree in a relevant subject
Affinity for technical product expertise with capital equipment
Successful track record in growing sales within a region through the successful appointment and development of dealers
Previous experience of large equipment business, particularly material handling equipment, is advantageous
Demonstrated resilience of having driven growth in an underdeveloped region
Proven sales growth record across a range of products and a variety of applications
Brand development experience, with an understanding of the complexities of success
Experience of working with a diverse customer base
Proven success in negotiating and closing deals
Articulate both verbally and in written communications with internal and external partners Confident style when presenting both formally and informally to potential customers and other Team Members. English (spoken and written) is essential for this position.
Experienced and successful in working with and developing full sales and service detail

Estimated travel is 50%.
