The Regional Sales Manager creates a strategy and implements tactical plans to increase sales with a Genie National Account. Builds revenue base by leading and facilitating the execution of the plan in conjunction with Genie Team Members. Program to include – Communication plan, pricing, marketing & sales support, training program and relationship management.
This role functions within the CAT National Account team, with responsibility for Midwest locations. May reside anywhere in the Midwest region.
Sales/Business Development and Management
Responsible for the development and execution of the strategic plan for the account
Creates the Sales Plan to grow sales to existing locations, expand sales to new locations and to introduce new products to customers. Manages account to meet market share requirements to insure account performance goals are achieved for the year
Analyzes the sales plan versus actual results and makes adjustments to efforts as necessary
Assists customers with business planning and development of sales forecasts and works to secure sales orders and reach revenue and profit goals
Identifies potential new opportunities with the Caterpillar Dealer Network. Conducts research of local market and business activity. Understands and sells the Genie Value proposition and competitive advantages
Advanced knowledge of equipment financing programs. Works closely with Terex Financial Services to develop long term financing strategies to insure long term customer success with both Terex and Genie products
Coordinates and leads all aspects of business development including; training, marketing, communication, sales support and coverage at customer events and trade shows..
Ability to pass an MVR check
Cat experience / Understanding the dealer network
Good communication skills and the ability to maintain relationships
Ability to travel 70-90% of the time
Demonstrated knowledge/experience in territory and time management
The ability to multi task
Computer skills with CRM/Sales force a plus
Construction/Genie equipment knowledge
Strong negotiation skills, particularly experience with advanced deal structures including, rebates, payment terms, freight allowances, trade packages, leasing, etc.
Well-developed problem solving skills
Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships, prepare and deliver formal presentations, and to negotiate sales contracts
The ability to tow and demo equipment at customer sites
