This position will be accountable to drive continuous improvement and performance excellence in customer satisfaction and manufacturing. Liaison with Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Engineering and Purchasing to identify and reduce defects of both internally and externally products.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the organization’s quality systems, policies, standards, procedures and strategic plans to ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Prepare process monitors and performance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends, including reject and scrap rates, customer complaints, corrective actions, and audit results.

  • Monitor and implement where necessary, internal and supplier process capability performance, lead and perform supplier evaluations and audits.

  • Acts as a liaison between customers, suppliers and external auditors on matters regarding the Quality Management System and to assure that their needs for quality products and on time delivery are met.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and initiating new programs as well as corrective and preventative actions; oversees and manages the corrective action process with the organization.

  • Create, revise, control, and submit PPAP documentation

  • Document, validate, and resolve warranty claims and communicate resolution of warranty issues. Analyze root causes of warranty claims and identify methods to ensure closure of warranty issue; resolve in a timely and appropriate matter according to project specifications.

  • Implement and support QMS systems (ISO).

  • Support implementing and managing a Lean Manufacturing/Quality System that yields a reduction of defects through the analysis and solution of recurring quality problems. Including tracking and analysis of defects to root cause.

  • Develop and communicates procedures, visual standards, inspection work instructions, FMEA's and control plans, conducts process capability studies and coordinates APQP on new projects.

  • Participate in product development to identify and develop appropriate quality system changes and procedures for new customer requirements and desired internal program goals.

  • Manage and improve the non-conforming material review and control process.

  • Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing, Engineering and other support departments on Inspection procedures and operations.

  • Works with all departments to improve/implement Process Management techniques and guidelines as appropriate.

  • Perform and implement gauge R&R studies.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree; technical field preferred such as Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or applicable experience.

  • Related experience required; quality management activities such as quality systems development, customer and supplier quality relations, process controls, corrective and preventive action.

  • Demonstrated experience building quality into process.

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience with the use of corrective actions, root cause analysis, statistical methods, APQP and FMEA.

  • Knowledge and functional experience in an ISO Quality Management Systems environment preferred.

  • Excellent problem solving skills and analytical abilities.

  • Statistical training, computer skills, related technical background preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees and customers.

  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing supplier development programs.

  • Demonstrated experience as a change agent in driving a cultural shift from inspection based systems to more proactive, process focused environment.

  • Knowledge of and use of Lean Principles; continuous improvement, process management, 3P, cost downs, TQM (Total Quality Management), Kaizen events, quality containment, root cause analysis, supplier reliability and control plans.
