In accordance with the goals, policies and procedures of the Terex Materials Processing, the plant operations manager is responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Leadership and direction to the operational teams on site.

  • Excellent planning and execution of the production schedule to achieve or exceed business unit objectives.

  • Lead best business practices through lean manufacturing thinking, Terex Business System initiatives and The Terex Way

  • Monitor production costs to ensure that targets are achieved on time within budget and within Quality standards.

  • Ensure that production is working to required standards in a zero defects culture, while continuously improving the process.

  • Setting objectives and measuring performance of the Durand manufacturing team.

  • Ensuring the site is correctly resourced with the right level of skill and talent.

  • Developing and maintaining best practices and production efficiencies within the business unit while supporting the wider Terex Business Systems using lean techniques.

  • Ensuring best practices in areas such as HS&E, planning/scheduling, production, manufacturing, quality and engineering cooperation.

  • Responsible for all HS&E mandatory reporting and compliance. Also responsible for all HS&E activities and initiatives for the entire site.

  • Co-operation with the wider Terex Materials Processing Group in relation to the implementation of manufacturing strategies.

  • Set annual goals and objectives for all direct reports and measure performance regularly to ensure team alignment, development and success.

  • Lead the development, planning and execution of Capital Expenditure projects to ensure they are on schedule and budget.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, HR and Purchasing managers to build a strong and highly functional site team.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives for HS&E, quality, cost and delivery.

  • Work with the supply chain team to develop suppliers and programs which deliver high quality and low cost components to the site.

  • Own the manufacturing costs for the site. Exercise independent judgement to adjust costs for staff and expenses in response to market fluctuations.

  • Ensure compliance to all general site Rules, Regulations, and Policies.

  • Maintain all reporting that are statutory requirements and needed to keep the business running per state, county, national regulations and company policies.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 + years in manufacturing, including budget knowledge and costs.

  • 5 + years managing direct reports in a manufacturing environment.

  • 5 + years working within a Lean Operating System

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5 + years of experience in heavy equipment, low-volume/high mix organization.

  • Proven understanding and ability to plan and execute continuous improvement/lean initiatives

  • Ensure best practices in areas such as HS&E, planning/scheduling, production, manufacturing, quality and engineering cooperation.​
