Title: Network Engineer

Location: Lurgan, Northern Ireland with european travel

Position Description

We are looking for a network engineer to be a key team member on a geographically distributed team that manages a globally distributed and secure corporate-wide network infrastructure.

The primary roles include;

  • Enforce firewall compliance, consolidation and standardization

  • Standardize network infrastructure

  • Install, manage and monitor network devices and network connected devices through a disciplined change control process

  • Enforce network standards and policies

  • Liaise and collaborate with the local IT site teams on network optimization and other projects

  • Serve as an escalation point resource for network related issues

  • Provide backup for your peers in the other regions (i.e. follow the sun support)

Responsibilities

  • Deploy where needed, manage and monitor the company’s firewall infrastructure

  • Co-Manage and monitor routers on the Terex MPLS backbone

  • Manage and monitor RAS/VPN connections to our MPLS backbone

  • Optimize and fine tune network performance (QOS/COS)

  • Deploy, manage and monitor primary and backup connectivity to our MPLS backbone

  • Liaise and collaborate with the local IT site teams and be an escalation point for all networking issues

  • Build and maintain effective work relationships with all Terex IT team members

  • Perform updates on all managed systems

  • Support Mergers Acquisitions

  • Support/Deploy the company’s infrastructure

  • Work to and enforce compliance, standard procedures, Terex Global IT policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley/PCI

  • Participates and contributes to the development and implementation Terex Global IT Strategy & tactical initiatives.

  • Be responsible and accountable for the provision of a robust Terex Infrastructure & Operations service.

  • Maintain and monitor core Infrastructure shared services.

  • Co-ordination of new infrastructure installations.

  • Provision of technical direction to Site IT & Infrastructure teams

  • Where appropriate, implement and support cost effective consolidation of IT infrastructure solutions, to reduce the on-going costs associated with IT infrastructure within Terex.

  • Ensure that infrastructure systems and services are implemented in accordance with Terex policies & procedures and, where possible, with standard industry practices that are fully documented.

  • Ensure that appropriate security standards are fully implemented to protect the Terex environment.

  • Help design, implement and support resilient infrastructures Services.

  • Ensure that “Best Practice” business continuity and disaster recovery plans and test procedures/schedules are implemented for all services.

  • Ensure that effective capacity planning and configuration management is maintained for the infrastructure environment.

  • Contribute to the annual budgetary & forecasting process.

  • Assess and manage the risks and issues associated with the provision, management and support of IT infrastructure.

  • Work collaboratively with your peers, managers and project managers in transitioning projects to fully supported production services

  • Ensure that colleagues, customers and stakeholders have a clear view of progress, issues, risks and interdependencies relating to operational plans and projects.

  • Demonstrate strong and positive servant leadership to all team members within our organization.

  • Provide out-of-hours response and support for any issues requiring your input.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Cisco experience (CCNA or CCNP preferred )

  • Cisco Firewalls (PIX/ASA)

  • Networking infrastructure services (LAN, WLAN, AAA, Radius, TACACS, all controlled by Cisco ACS ver 5)

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

  • VoIP implementation experience desirable

  • LINUX experience preferable

  • Fluent English is mandatory, a second language desirable

  • Willing to work in a geographically distributed team

Level of education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience required. Master’s Degree desirable.
