Position Overview

The Business Process & Compliance Manager will lead control and compliance, process documentation and standardization, Terex Business System (TBS), operational performance, data integrity, and overall customer experience activities at GBS.

This key leadership position works across all GBS process areas including accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and travel expense. Business units across all five Terex segments and the Corporate office are supported by GBS and specifically by the Business Process & Compliance Manager. In addition, this position is critical to ensure GBS operates as one team with standardization and customer experience at the foundation.

This position is a leadership role reporting to the Finance Director which requires skills in leading, influencing and coaching others, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, organizational knowledge, self-management, and strong U.S. GAAP and SOX experience. Formation of strong partnerships with business unit and functional leaders is crucial to the overall success of this role and of Terex.

Responsibilities:

Control & Compliance

  • Direct, coordinate, and enhance business control framework, internal control design, documentation of desktop procedures, and mapping of business processes.

  • Direct self-assessment, testing, and remediation of internal control environment.

  • Expand and improve established procedures for control testing and evaluation.

  • Oversee the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance effort within GBS to ensure controls are in place and a consistent approach is utilized in accordance with the Control Design Validation (CDV), Delegation of Authority (DOA), and Internal Control Roadmap (ICRM).

  • Central contact point for internal and external audit coordination and deliverables.

  • Direct the improvement in compliance and financial audit results; manage and streamline internal and external audit services to drive audit cost reduction.

Terex Business System (TBS)

  • Implement lean principles into accounting and transactional processes.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects at GBS and across business units supported.

  • Coordinate and lead daily, weekly, and monthly kaizen program.

Operating Performance

  • Develop and maintain KPIs to drive operational performance improvement.

  • Track KPI performance and communicate via reporting.

  • Utilize KPI information to drive improvement activities.

  • Implement and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) with all business units supported by GBS.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure processes are designed and executed with a customer focus.

  • Align operational KPIs to monitor and improve customer experience.

  • Measure SLA performance to verify internal service requirements are being met or exceeded.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve customer responsiveness and reduce business process complexity within the internal control and operational framework.

Master Data Integrity

  • Customer and supplier master record owner.

  • Control data master record addition and change process across all operating systems.

  • Analyze data for standardization and quality improvement opportunities.

Standardization

  • One format for process documentation and process maps.

  • Process standardization across GBS U.S. operations for all business units and segments supported.

  • Process standardization across all GBS locations to ensure consistent and efficient approach.

  • Own the GBS shared file location accessible by the team and customers for key information.

Leadership

  • Support talent development through continuous improvement initiatives, performance assessment, coaching and evaluation, team member professional development, and active participation in delivery of financial training.

  • Lead organizational change to improve, simplify, and standardize.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years' business experience

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 plus years public accounting experience

  • Experience in a large global organization.

  • Masters of Science in Accounting, Masters of Business Administration and/or Certified Management Accountant.

  • Big 4 public accounting experience a plus

  • Experience in using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) reporting system.

  • Demonstrated oversight in areas of accounting, compliance, and continuous improvement.

  • Proven capabilities in business process mapping, internal control design, KPI reporting, policy and procedure documentation, and continuous improvement activities.

  • Implementation of lean principles into accounting or general administrative areas.

  • Strong working knowledge of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

  • Strong system background and high comfort level in a variety of analysis and reporting tools.
