The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for developing the master production plan to satisfy our Customer demands whilst contributing towards the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational targets.
This will involve near-term capacity planning as well asmanaging the forecast for long range material planning whilst considering current inventory, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles and production capacity.
Role & Responsibilities
Create Master Production Schedules to ensure customer requirements are fully met
Drive, promote and develop positive communication with Sales to improve forecast accuracy.
Responsible for producing a monthly production plan in line with plant capacity and sales forecast.
Works together with Operations department to ensure there is adequate capacity available to meet short term S&OP demand and longer term strategic plan.
Improve forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas and projects
Assist in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies.
Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the master production plan, including manufacturing lead times
Monitors daily production outputs and ensures high levels of schedule adherence are achievable and realistic.
Minimise costs and inventory to ensure company objectives are achieved
Ensure availability of all raw material and components
Ensures system data is accurate through regular maintenance of Bills of Material, Production routings, and system parameters.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Lean manufacturing experience.
Strong proactive approach is a must
Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills needed
Collaborative interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organisation
Ability to drive process improvement
amExperience & Qualifications:
Must have experience in production planning/scheduling, ideally from a fast paced manufacturing environment
Minimum 5 years ERP system planning experience, with full understanding of Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP), Works Order Management (WO), and Inventory Management (IM).
Proficency with Microsoft Office
Lean Manufacturing experience
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
