Terex Corporation Group Financial Controller – Environmental and Material Handling in Omagh, United Kingdom

Overview

The Group Financial Controller has responsibility for the oversight of the environmental and material handling sites, which include Terex Newton, CBI Europe, TEE Dungannon, Bad Schoenborn in Germany and Fuchs Louisville, USA. Key attributes for success in this role are strong Financial guidance and good manufacturing knowledge.

Core accounting workload is conducted centrally. Key deliverables of this role and that of the operational finance function is to understand core KPIs for the business and in conjunction with the General Managers provide advice and take actions against these.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks

  • Drive financial improvement and partner effectively with the General Manager

  • Analyze business risks and opportunities, and make recommendations as they affect the financial results of the business.

  • Provide “operational insight” into the business, thus allowing the executive team to better understand and manage the business.

  • Ensure financial controls map seamlessly into the segment’s businesses lean manufacturing environment

  • Present a clear, concise analysis and accurate summarization of the business’ financial results, including ROIC, revenue and profit versus plan and versus prior years, and relevant return on sales/net assets and working capital measurements.

  • Ensure that all areas under this position’s responsibility are focused on developing world-class procedures, policies, capable professionals and support staff to achieve accurate, timely financial reporting and timely analysis in order to meet the needs of the company.

  • Develop, implement, and ensure the completion of annual and quarterly financial budgeting processes.

  • Ensure support to regional financial planning.

  • Provide financial assistance to sales and marketing and the business units during major contract negotiations. This will include commercial financing alternatives, profitability and cost analysis.

  • Prepare and issue monthly financial reports as required. Identify key profitability issues and solutions related to the region’s performance, which represent deviations from budget, prior year, or attainable levels.

  • Provide expertise on internal controls and sox compliance, ensuring local leadership understand and comply with all Terex and legal requirements. This role will undertake specific accountability for successful audit results in this regard.

  • On an ad-hoc basis, provide sound financial analysis for a variety of special projects. Provide contractual review of various sales and operating agreements. Ability to quickly assess both financial and non - financial implications.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree is required

  • Professional accountancy qualification is required.

Experience

  • Over 10 years of financial management experience with both operational controllership and financial planning and analysis experience in a medium to large business within a global environment.

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Experience leading successful financial budgeting processes

  • Involvement in acquisitions and divestitures.

  • Auditing, accounting and financial reporting experience preferred.

Travel is required to the various locations. It’s likely to be around 50% travel initially.
